An afternoon of snowshoeing to discover the mountain's treasures

While skiing offers thrills, it’s not always a family bonding moment, especially when the little ones are learning to ski. For a sporty afternoon that also brings the family together, snowshoeing is an activity that everyone will agree on. It's an opportunity to take your time and discover the beautiful landscapes offered by the Alps.

Visit the Tuéda Nature Reserve in Meribel

In Meribel, the Tuéda Nature Reserve was established to preserve the Swiss pine and the black grouse. Created in 1990 as a compensatory measure related to the ski area, it aims to protect the forest surrounding the lake, the habitat of the grouse.

Spanning 1112 hectares, between 1700 and 3200 meters in altitude, it stretches from the Tuéda Lake to the foot of the Gébroulaz glacier. Numerous activities are offered: cross-country skiing, skiing on the bear track, hiking on footpaths, and marked snowshoe routes leading to the Saut refuge. It is important to respect protected areas to ensure the animals' tranquility. The Meribel valley is home to about sixty singing roosters. An eagle has made its nest there, and the reserve is also populated by about thirty ibex and a significant population of chamois.

This outing is an opportunity to spend time as a family while introducing the younger ones to alpine biodiversity and raising their awareness of the environment.
